About region

The Nadbużańskie Podlasie Region lies in the south-east of Poland, in the middle of the historic land of Podlasie, at the meeting point of three voivodeships: Podlasie, Masovian and Lublin Voivodeships. Important transportation routes that connect the south and north of Poland meet here (national road No. 19 Suwałki - Rzeszów) as well as a route connecting central Poland with the eastern border. The southern border of the poviat constitutes the most beautiful part of the Bug River called the Podlasie Bug River Gorge. It spreads from Niemirów through Mielnik and Drohiczyn. In the east, the poviat borders with Belarus.

Large forest complexes entice visitors to pick up mushrooms or go on bike trips, whereas large water reservoirs are a perfect place for swimmers, canoe trip and angling lovers. We will find a wide range of unique places here, including an opencast chalk mine as well as thermophilic vegetation reserves.
