Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Mielnik

The church is one of the few monuments that survived the II World War. It was built in 1913 and it is considered as designed in the neo-Baroque style. In the main church altar there is a painting of the Mother of God with Baby Jesus. It used to be a destination of pilgrimages of residents from nearby villages, however, numerous votive offerings were plundered and only the local cult remained. Cult objects that survived and are currently in the church include: a Baroque crucifix from the late 17th century, a monstrance that dates back to the years 1720-1730 and a chalice from around 1730. The church is also home to a very interesting “Way of the Cross”.
