A classicistic Nicholas the Wonderworker Orthodox Church in Drohiczyn

The church represents the classicistic style. It was built in 1792, founded by Konstancja Kuczyńska and Jakub Cieciereski as the Uniate Church of St. Nicholas for the Basilian Church. After a Uniate Orthodox parish church burned in 1806 (also a St. Nicholas Church) masses were moved here. In 1826 it was handed over to a Uniate secular clergy. In 1839 it was handed over to members of the Orthodox Church. Inside there is an iconostasis from the end of the 19th century, the Drohiczyn Icon of Our Lady from the 16th century, icons from the 17th-18th century, polychrome from the 1980s by a Greek, Sotyrys Pantopulos.
