Informacje

  • Adres: ul. Zamkowa, 17-312 Drohiczyn, Drohiczyn
The Castle Hill used to be an element of power of rulers of this town governed alternately by Russian, Lithuanian and Mazovian princes. On the Drohiczyn fortress embankments the ups and downs of the princes’ and rulers’ glory began. Today, the Castle Hill is a view point, overlooking a picturesque valley of the Bug River. No trace remained of the Drohiczyn Castle, which used stand in this place. Archeological works conducted in 2012 allowed to discover the outline of its stone foundation. On the top there is an obelisk erected on the 10th anniversary of Poland regaining independence.
